The UN Affirms Its Commitment To Supporting Iraq After The End Of UNAMI's Mission

Baghdad/NINA/- The Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Iraq, Mohammed Al-Hassan, affirmed that the United Nations will continue its approach of supporting Iraq even after the end of the UNAMI mission at the end of 2025.
In his speech during a memorial service for the victims of the 2003 bombing of the UN headquarters in Baghdad, Al-Hassan said: "The mandate of the United Nations Mission in Iraq will end at the end of this year, but the foundations upon which it has worked will not end with the end of the mission's work, as the United Nations will continue to work with the Iraqi people, the presidencies, and the Iraqi government."
Al-Hassan praised "the efforts of the Iraqi people and the Iraqi government in supporting the mission even in the most difficult times," indicating that "what has been achieved together in Iraq will benefit the entire region." / End
