Top Indian diplomat to discuss strategic partnership during visit to Russia
NEW DELHI, August 19. /TASS/. Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar will discuss ways to strengthen strategic partnership between New Delhi and Moscow during his upcoming visit to Russia, the Indian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
"The visit aims to further strengthen the longstanding and time-tested India-Russia Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership," the statement reads.
According to the ministry, Jaishankar will make an official visit to Russia on August 19-21 at the invitation of Russian First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov. The two will co-chair the 26th Session of the India-Russia Inter-Governmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technological and Cultural Cooperation scheduled for August 20.
The top Indian diplomat "will also meet Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov and review the bilateral agenda and share perspective on regional and global issues," the ministry added.
