Prince Mohammed bin Salman Global Center to Host Arabic Calligraphy Competition

Riyadh, August 25, 2025, SPA -- The Prince Mohammed bin Salman Global Center for Arabic Calligraphy initiative is set to launch the second edition of its Arabic Calligraphy Competition during the 2025 Riyadh International Book Fair, scheduled for October 2 to 4. This competition aims to support Arabic calligraphy as a vital component of Saudi cultural identity and the artistic heritage of Islamic and Arab civilization.
The competition will feature nine local and international calligraphers competing across three tracks—Thuluth, Ruq'ah, and Jali Diwani scripts—to secure the top three positions in each category.
The initiative aims to stimulate creativity in Arabic calligraphy by inviting calligraphers from around the world to revive the traditions of this art form according to the highest artistic standards while fostering creativity and talent.
The Prince Mohammed bin Salman Global Center for Arabic Calligraphy continues to advance its mission through diverse initiatives aimed at establishing the center as a global platform that promotes Arabic calligraphy as a universal form of communication across heritage, arts, architecture, and design.
