Al-Sudani Stresses the Need for Coordination and Cooperation Within OPEC to Maintain Energy Market Stability

Baghdad /NINA/ -Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani on Saturday stressed the importance of strengthening coordination and cooperation within the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) to ensure stability in global energy markets.
A statement from the Prime Minister’s media office said that Al-Sudani received OPEC Secretary-General Haitham Al-Ghais on the sidelines of Baghdad International Energy Forum, which opened today with the participation of Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs, Minister of Oil Hayan Abdul Ghani.
Al-Sudani emphasized that continued cooperation among member states is a key factor in maintaining balance across energy markets, while also commending the broad international participation in the forum hosted by Baghdad.
For his part, Al-Ghais noted that Baghdad’s hosting of the International Energy Forum reflects its historic and active role in the oil and energy sector, recalling that the Iraqi capital was the birthplace of OPEC 65 years ago./ End
