Tehran, IRNA – Iran’s Greco-Roman wrestling team has secured the world championship title with one day of competition still to go.

The team’s current haul includes gold medals for Gholamreza Farrokhi (82 kg) and Amin Mirzazadeh (130 kg), as well as a silver medal from Payam Ahmadi (55 kg).

Mohammadhadi Saravi, the 2024 Olympic champion, Saeed Esmaeili, and Alireza Mohmadi will have a chance to add to the medal count in the 97 kg, 67 kg, and 87 kg categories Saturday night.

The Greco-Roman wrestling team first became world champions at the 2014 World Championships in Uzbekistan.
