Iran to launch satellites later this year: minister

TEHRAN, Sep. 23 (MNA) – Iran's Minister of Communications and Information Technology Sattar Hashemi says that the government of President Masoud Pezeshkian has launch of several satellites into space on agendal later this year in Iranian calendar.
Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, the Iranian minister said the satellites that are planned to be launched are categorized in the Shahid Soleimani class.
"Several light satellites will be launched into space this year within the Shahid Soleimani satellite class (system). This system is gradually reaching maturity," Hashemi said.
"The development of the components of this system is underway. The Space Organization and the Space Research Institute have focused on the project, and launches are on the agenda, using both domestic and foreign launchers," he added.
"In the 14th government (under President Masoud Pezeshkian), our focus is on targeted launches and providing effective services to the people," the minister continued.
