Bishkek, Sept. 24, 2025. /Kabar/. On September 23, President Sadyr Zhaparov met with President Umaro Sissoco Embaló of Guinea-Bissau during the high-level week of the 80th anniversary session of the UN General Assembly in New York, USA.
According to the presidential press service, Sadyr Zhaparov noted that relations between Kyrgyzstan and Guinea-Bissau are at an early stage of development. Diplomatic relations between the two countries were established in February 2025.
The head of state expressed interest in developing bilateral and multilateral cooperation with African states, including Guinea-Bissau, in various areas of mutual interest.
In turn, President Umaro Sissoco Embaló of Guinea-Bissau noted the importance of establishing diplomatic relations and expressed his readiness to strengthen the partnership with Kyrgyzstan.
Oumarou Umaro Sissoco Embaló also proposed creating a permanent mechanism for interaction between the two countries.
In conclusion, the leaders reaffirmed their intention to develop dialogue and agreed to identify specific areas of cooperation.
