The President Meets His Vietnamese Counterpart In New York, Receives An Invitation To Visit Vietnam

Baghdad / NINA/- President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid received an official invitation to visit Vietnam during his meeting with the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Luong Cuong, at his residence in New York on the sidelines of the United Nations meetings.
A presidential statement said the talks focused on strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation between the two countries in various fields, particularly agriculture, in a way that serves the common interests of the two friendly peoples. President Rashid emphasized the importance of building on the historic ties between Iraq and Vietnam to achieve the aspirations of both nations for progress and development, stressing that the current complex global situation requires greater coordination and joint action to ensure international peace and security.
For his part, the Vietnamese President expressed his country’s eagerness to deepen its partnership with Iraq, calling for intensified international cooperation to end wars and conflicts and to build relations that serve the peoples of the world.
The meeting was attended by Kurdistan Regional Government Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani, National Security Advisor Qasim al-Araji, and Presidential Chief of Staff Kamel al-Dulaimi, while the Vietnamese side included Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien along with several officials from both countries./ End
