Arar Sky Witnesses Moon-Mars Conjunction and Newly Discovered Comet

Arar, September 25, 2025, SPA -- The sky over Arar, in Northern Borders Region, witnessed a captivating astronomical event featuring a conjunction of the moon with Mars, alongside the faint appearance of comet C/2025 R2.
Adnan Khalifa, a member of the astronomy and space club, said the comet, one of the most recently discovered, was first detected on September 12, 2025, using a specialized instrument aboard the Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO), which is primarily used to observe the sun. The discovery was later confirmed by astronomers and amateur observers around the world.
Khalifa noted that such celestial events are vital to sparking public interest in astronomy, offering enthusiasts and researchers valuable opportunities to observe planetary movements and deepen their understanding of the universe.
