EOD Destroys Two Unexploded Cambodian Rockets

UBON RATCHATHANI, Oct 2 (TNA) - Thai Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) units have successfully neutralized two unexploded BM-21 rockets in the Nam Yuen district of Ubon Ratchathani.

The rockets are believed to have been fired from Cambodia into Thai territory during a past border conflict. Local residents alerted authorities to the suspicious impact sites, prompting the EOD team to investigate three potential locations.

The first two operations concluded successfully. The first warhead, found in a tapioca field, was safely destroyed following a 20-minute road closure to ensure public safety.

The second warhead was located and neutralized near a house. A third site has been identified and secured, but EOD operations there are paused pending necessary confirmation from military units.

Authorities are urging residents in the border areas to immediately report any suspicious objects or unusual holes to local police or administrative offices for safe disposal. -819 (TNA)
