AZERBAIJAN-NATO CONSULTATIONS HELD IN BRUSSELS
Baku, July 15 (AzerTAc). Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Elmar Mammadyarov and his accompanying delegation including high-level officials from ministries of Defense, National Security, Internal Affairs, Emergencies and State Border Service have arrived in NATO Headquarters in Brussels.
Mammadyarov met with NATO top officials and attended a North Atlantic Council-Azerbaijan meeting.
During the Azerbaijan-NATO consultations, the talks focused on bilateral cooperation, implementation of Azerbaijan`s Individual Partnership Action Plans (IPAPs), regional security, as well as transportation of Azerbaijan`s energy resources to European markets.
NATO highly appreciated reforms carried out in Azerbaijan in security sector and the country`s contribution to operations of the International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan.
The Alliance also praised the cooperation with Azerbaijan in science, education and environment.
These kinds of consultations between Azerbaijan and NATO are held once a year.
