Yala Bomb Sites Sealed Off

YALA, Oct 9 (TNA) - Thai authorities on Thursday sealed off bomb sites in the southern city of Yala after a series of late-night blasts, as the Prime Minister prepared to visit the restive border region this weekend.
Seven explosive devices detonated in a row late Wednesday at Khwan Muang Park, followed by an eighth blast at the nearby Sanam Chang Phueak Park. No injuries were reported in the attacks.

Security forces immediately cordoned off both public areas, banning entry to allow Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) teams to conduct sweeping safety and forensic checks.
Deputy Governor Kongsakul Chantharach confirmed the deployment of integrated security forces overnight to secure the areas, urging local residents to remain confident in the recovery efforts.
The attacks are believed to be the latest attempt to stir unrest in Thailand’s insurgency-hit deep South, prompting the Prime Minister’s scheduled visit to the region this Saturday to address the security situation. - 819 (TNA)
