SEOUL, Oct. 14 (Yonhap) -- South Korea's top central banker will attend a meeting of the Group of 20 (G20) finance ministers and central bank chiefs, as well as the International Monetary Fund-World Bank Group (IMF-WBG) meetings, to be held in the United States this week, officials said Tuesday.

Bank of Korea (BOK) Gov. Rhee Chang-yong will attend the G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors Meeting set to take place in Washington on Wednesday (local time) for talks on global economic and financial conditions, the international financial system and other key issues, according to central bank officials.

During the IMF-WBG meetings, Rhee will join officials from international organizations and other institutions to review the global economic outlook and financial stability and to discuss major global policy challenges.

While in Washington, the BOK governor is also scheduled to hold separate talks with high-ranking officials from the Federal Reserve, the European Central Bank and other major central banks to exchange views on recent international developments.

Rhee left for Washington on Monday and is scheduled to return home Saturday, the BOK added.
