The EU Praises Iraq's Diplomatic Role In Calming The Situation In The Middle East

Baghdad / NINA / -The European Union praised Iraq's constructive diplomatic role in calming the situation in the Middle East and affirmed its continued support for this process.

A joint statement issued by Iraq and the European Union at the conclusion of the fourth meeting of the Ministerial Cooperation Council in Luxembourg, stated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said: "The two sides discussed the priorities of bilateral relations, most notably migration, trade, democracy, human rights, development cooperation, and energy, stressing their commitment to continuing constructive dialogue on all issues of common interest."

According to the statement, the European Union praised Iraq's constructive diplomatic role in calming the situation in the Middle East, affirming its continued support for Baghdad in this process.

It also noted the remarkable progress Iraq has made in consolidating internal stability and preparing for the parliamentary elections scheduled for November 11, 2025, as a crucial step in strengthening the country's democratic process.

 The European Union renewed its support for Iraq in its transition from security recovery to economic and investment recovery, noting, at the same time, the Iraqi government's efforts to rehabilitate and repatriate its citizens detained in camps in northeastern Syria./ End
