Myanmar Targets More Buildings at 'KK Park' Scam Hub; Over 1,000 Flee to Thailand

TAK, Oct 24 (TNA) - Myanmar's military is set to conduct further demolitions at the notorious "KK Park" cybercrime compound in Myawaddy today, following the destruction of three buildings used by Chinese run scam syndicates and their security forces yesterday.
The crackdown, now in its third day, has seen troops secure the vast complex, which is a major hub for online fraud. Reports from the area indicate that the military has freed numerous victims from various countries who were forced into cyber-scam operations. Soldiers are expected to sweep every section of the compound today, with more buildings suspected of housing criminal activity slated for demolition.

The military operation has triggered a mass flight across the border. Over 1,000 foreign nationals, including both suspected scammers and trafficking victims, have fled the compound and illegally crossed the Moei River into Thailand's Tak province.
Thai authorities have apprehended 1,049 individuals as of this morning, with the number continually rising. The largest groups include 399 Indians, 147 Chinese, and 31 Thais.
Thai officials have established 24-hour border checkpoints and are providing humanitarian assistance—food, water, and medical aid—to the arrivals. Authorities are focusing on screening the migrants to separate potential criminals from genuine victims of forced labor and human trafficking. -819 (TNA)
