Iraq Prepares to The Host 28th Session of the Arab Ministerial Council for Tourism

Cairo / NINA / -The Tourism Authority continues its intensive preparations to host the 28th session of the Arab Ministerial Council for Tourism, scheduled to be held in Baghdad on December 8–9, along with the “Tourism Destination Inclusivity Conference” on December 6–7. The events coincide with the celebrations of Baghdad as the Arab Tourism Capital for 2025.
In this context, Ali Yassin, Director of Public Relations, Media, and International Organizations at the Tourism Authority, discussed with Ambassador Ali bin Ibrahim Al-Maliki, Head of the Economic Affairs Sector at the Arab League, and officials from the Transport and Tourism Department and the Arab Tourism Organization in Cairo, the technical and logistical arrangements to ensure the success of this major Arab event, the first of its kind in the history of Iraqi tourism.
Coordination was also made with Bahjat Abu Al-Nasr, Director of the Transport and Tourism Department at the Arab League, and Walid Al-Hanafi, Secretary-General of the Arab Tourism Organization, regarding the organization of the Tourism Statistics Forum and the Inclusive Tourism Destinations Forum, as well as the participation of international experts to support the development of Iraq’s hotel and resort sectors.
Yassin affirmed that hosting the Arab Tourism Ministers’ meetings in Baghdad represents a qualitative leap in Iraq’s tourism journey and an opportunity to enhance regional cooperation, gain valuable expertise, and showcase Iraq’s true image as a promising destination rich in diverse attractions and tourism potential. /End
