Jakarta, July 16 (ANTARA) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) questions legislator of 2004-2009 period Teuku Muhammad Nurlif for alleged bribery in the election of Bank Indonesia senior deputy governor in 2004.
"Today we asked for a clarification from Teuku Muhammad Nurlif," KPK spokesman Johan Budi said here on Thursday.
He said Nurlif was questioned for two hours until 12 at noon on Thursday as a witness in the alleged bribery case.
After the questioning, Nurlif, a Golkar Party politician immediately left the KPK building without saying a word to waiting journalists.
Johan Budi said the KPK had named four suspects in the case, namely Dudhie Makmun Murod, Endin Soefihara, Hamka Yandhu, and former Supreme Audit Board (BPK) member Udju Djuhaeri.
According to Johan Budi, the KPK was also scheduled to question Home Affairs Minister Madiyanto next week.
He said the home affairs minister would be questioned by KPK in a corruption case related to the procurement of fire trucks for regional administrations a few years ago.
"Yes, the KPK will question the home affairs minister next week in connection with the fire trucks procurement," Johan Budi said here on Tuesday.
He said the KPK investigating team would question the home affairs minister next Wednesday, July 22, 2009 as a witness in the alleged corruption case.
The KPK spokesman added that Mardiyanto would be quizzed in his capacity as former Central Java governor in relation with the procurement of fire trucks for a number of regions in Indonesia, including Central Java.
"The home affairs minister will be questioned by KPK as a witness," Johan Budi said, adding that the KPK investigating team would try to obtain information from the minister to complete the dossier of Oentarto Sindung Mawardi, former director general of regional autonomy at the Home Affairs Ministry who had been named a suspect in the corruption case.
The KPK would also investigate Hadi Purnomo in his capacity as Central Java regional secretary, and Warsono, Central Java people's welfare office chief.
