Iran-Uzbekistan trade grows 58 Percent in 2025: Minister

TEHRAN, Nov. 11 (MNA) – In a meeting with senior Uzbek officials in Tashkent, the Minister of Industry, Mine, and Trade announced a 58 percent increase in trade volume between Iran and Uzbekistan this year.
Iran’s Minister of Industry, Mine, and Trade, Seyyed Mohammad Atabak, has traveled to Tashkent for talks with senior Uzbek officials, including the Prime Minister and the country’s ministers of economy and industry.
The main focus of the visit is to reach new tariff agreements, remove customs barriers, and facilitate trade exchanges between the two nations.
On Sunday evening, Atabak met with Iranian traders and businessmen residing in Uzbekistan, discussing their concerns and challenges. He noted that the joint efforts of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Ministry of Industry, Mine, and Trade, and other related institutions have yielded results, adding that this year there has been a 58 percent increase in trade volume between Iran and Uzbekistan.
Highlighting Uzbekistan’s strategic position as a bridge connecting Central Asia, Atabak said that despite recent progress in bilateral trade, “to reach the real potential, transport and customs issues — especially in rail and road logistics — must be resolved, and the Preferential Trade Agreement should be signed as soon as possible.”
The minister is accompanied by a delegation of senior Iranian officials, including managers of major companies, members of parliament, the Deputy Minister and Head of the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPOI), the Deputy Minister and Head of IMIDRO (Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization), and other officials from the ministry.
