King Salman bin Abdulaziz Royal Reserve Embraces Biodiversity with Native Flora

Turaif, November 10, 2025, SPA -- The trees and shrubs in the King Salman bin Abdulaziz Royal Reserve serve as green fortresses for wildlife, providing protection from climate fluctuations and threats to stability and reproduction. They are vital for ecosystem health, maintaining environmental balance and sustainability throughout the reserve.
The King Salman bin Abdulaziz Royal Development Authority is committed to protecting biodiversity and rehabilitating the natural habitat. The reserve hosts over 550 plant species, including notable varieties such as acacia, lycium shawii, white saxaul, saltbush, tamarisk, retama, arta, wormwood, and artemisia. The plants enhance soil preservation and provide shelter and food for wildlife through initiatives that boost green areas and plant diversity, in collaboration with government agencies and local communities.
These efforts support the Saudi Green Initiative and align with Saudi Vision 2030 to enhance the quality of life and preserve the environment for future generations.
