Saudi Arabian Scouts Association Wins Arab Scout Youth Award for Innovative Educational Project

Riyadh, November 10, 2025, SPA -- The Saudi Arabian Scouts Association has won the Arab Scout Youth Award for its innovative project “plant and play,” ranking among the top five youth initiatives in the second edition of the competition organized by the Arab Scout Region.
Presented by Scout Shahd Al-Harbi, “plant and play” is a digital educational and interactive application for children and young people, designed to foster a love of agriculture through engaging, hands-on learning. The app guides users step by step in planting and caring for plants while offering games and activities that encourage discovery and creativity.
The project emphasizes environmental conservation and sustainability, encouraging children to practice eco-friendly habits such as recycling plastic bottles and cardboard boxes to create planters. It aims to cultivate a generation that understands the value of food, agriculture’s role in food security, and the importance of protecting the environment. The app also teaches fundamental agricultural concepts in a fun and accessible way while promoting values such as responsibility, patience, and generosity, and developing observation and critical thinking skills.
Al-Harbi will be honored at the closing ceremony of the Sixth Arab Scout Youth Forum in Abu Dhabi, UAE, on November 13, highlighting the importance of fostering innovation within the scout movement and advancing projects that advance the Sustainable Development Goals.
