PM Visits Cambodian Border, Offers Support to Troops

SI SA KET, Nov 11 (TNA) - Thai Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul visited the border area between Thailand and Cambodia on Tuesday.
Anutin, accompanied by key cabinet members including Defence Minister General Natthapol Nakpanich, Foreign Minister Sihasak Phuangketkaew, and Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Armed Forces Gen Ukrit Boontanon flew from Bangkok to Ubon Ratchathani before taking a military helicopter to Si Sa Ket province.
The delegation first inspected the operations of the Huay Ta Maria Base and the Phu Makhea Base in Kantharalak district, for a briefing on the border situation. The visits were intended to boost the morale of the frontline officers.
Following the border inspection, the Prime Minister and his entourage traveled to Sapphasitthiprasong Military Hospital in Ubon Ratchathani to visit and offer encouragement to four military personnel who were injured after stepping on a landmines while on duty in the Huay Ta Maria area. The Prime Minister and his delegation were scheduled to return to Bangkok later the same evening.
