Thai King Makes Historic First State Visit to China

BANGKOK, Nov 13 (TNA) - Their Majesties King Maha Vajiralongkorn and Queen Suthida will begin a state visit to China on Thursday—a trip Thai officials declared a historic first for a reigning monarch.
Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul said the trip by the "King of Siam" was momentous and underscores the close ties between the two nations.
"This must be considered a historical event... it is something worthy of remembrance," Anutin said, noting the visit coincides with the 50th anniversary of formal Thai-Chinese diplomatic relations.
The Prime Minister confirmed he would travel with the delegation in his capacity as a Minister of Honour alongside Foreign Minister Sihasak Phuangketkeo.
Anutin also clarified he would not hold any separate bilateral discussions with Chinese officials, as his role is strictly part of the royal entourage.
The official itinerary, as announced by the Royal Household Bureau, includes several high-level meetings and symbolic engagements in Beijing. Their Majesties The King and Queen will be officially welcomed by President Xi Jinping at the Great Hall of the People, followed by an audience and a meeting with Premier Li Qiang.
The itinerary includes a wreath-laying at the Monument to the People's Heroes, visits to the Palace Museum for the 50th-anniversary exhibition, and tours of key technology centers, including the Humanoid Robot Innovation Center and the China Astronaut Research and Training Center. -819 (TNA)
