PM Affirms To The Head Of The Russian Company "Lukoil" Iraq's Commitment To The Stability Of The Global Oil Market

Baghdad / NINA /- Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani affirmed Iraq's commitment to the stability of the global oil market, ensuring the interests of both producers and consumers and the continued production of Iraqi oil at the established and stable rates.
The Prime Minister's Media Office stated in a press release: "Al-Sudani received Vagit Alekperov, President of the Russian oil company Lukoil. During the meeting, they discussed ways to find solutions and mechanisms to enhance the stability of oil production, following the company's exposure to US Treasury sanctions, which have impacted the implementation of its investment contracts."
The statement added: "The two sides discussed the stability of the oil supply market and ensuring that Iraq's capacity to contribute to oil production is not affected, as the company produces approximately 480,000 barrels per day from the West Qurna oil field." /End
