MILLI MAJLIS VICE-SPEAKER MEETS OSCE SECRETARY GENERAL

Baku, July 17 (AzerTAc). Vice-Speaker of Azerbaijan`s Parliament (Milli Majlis) Bahar Muradova has met today with visiting OSCE Secretary General Marc Perrin de Brichambaut.
Muradova briefed the Secretary General on the ongoing reforms in the country, the parliament`s cooperation with international organizations including relevant structures of OSCE to improve the legislature.
Muradova noted official Baku was interested in cooperation with OSCE in all areas, praising work of the OSCE Office in Baku.
Marc Perrin de Brichambaut, in turn, hailed the work done to improve the legislative base in the country.
He specially underlined the work of the Azerbaijan`s parliamentary delegation to OSCE Parliamentary Assembly.
He said OSCE would increase efforts to achieve peace in the region.
The Secretary General said he hopes for positive results from the Azerbaijani and Armenian presidents` meeting in Moscow.
Marc Perrin de Brichambaut added regional conflicts must be settled on the basis of territorial integrity of states and inviolability of borders. “It has no other alternative”, he added.
He underlined economic and humanitarian cooperation between Azerbaijan and OSCE should be expanded, too.
The sides also discussed how to increase the role of international organizations to solve regional security issues and other questions of mutual concern.
