Kyrgyzstan, Switzerland approve next 4-year cooperation plan

Bishkek, Dec.16,2025. /Kabar/. Today, the presentation of the Kyrgyzstan-Swiss cooperation program for 2026-2029 was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Foreign Minister Meder Abakirov.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the program was implemented with the support of the Swiss government.

During the event, the Ambassador of Switzerland to Kyrgyzstan Siroko Messerli informed the state bodies of Kyrgyzstan about the main directions of the new cooperation program, which includes projects in sustainable economic development, public administration, water resources, energy, climate change and other areas. The parties also discussed the initiatives and proposals of the state bodies of Kyrgyzstan in priority areas in accordance with the National Development Program until 2030.

In turn, the Deputy Foreign Minister of Kyrgyzstan Meder Abakirov noted that Switzerland is one of Kyrgyzstan's main partners in the West and thanked the Swiss side for the support provided to the Kyrgyz Republic. He added that these projects will contribute to improving the well-being of the country's population, as well as strengthening Kyrgyz-Swiss bilateral cooperation.

For information: Such cooperation mechanism between Kyrgyzstan and Switzerland has been implemented since 2013. Kyrgyzstan has implemented cooperation strategies for 2013-2016 and 2017-2021, and is nearing the completion of cooperation program for 2022-2025.
