Supreme Council of EAEU approves tourism development concept

Bishkek, Dec. 24, 2025 /Kabar/. Supreme Eurasian Economic Council (SEEC) approved the Tourism Development Concept in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), which defines the industry's strategic guidelines, as well as measures to expand economic cooperation and increase mutual tourist travel between the Union member states, the Union reports.
The concept envisages the creation of joint tourism products, the development of Eurasian routes, and increased awareness of the tourism potential of EAEU countries in domestic and foreign markets. Special section dedicated to tourism is also planned for launch on the Union portal.
Tourism is an important driver of economic growth and employment. According to the World Travel & Tourism Council, the industry will account for approximately 10% of global GDP and account for one in ten jobs in 2024. In the EAEU countries, tourism's share of GDP is approximately 3%, indicating high potential for further development.
It is noted that the implementation of the Concept will increase mutual tourist flow, enhance the contribution of the tourism sector to the economy, and stimulate the development of infrastructure and employment, the Union states.
