Spain applauded Kyrgyz Opera and Ballet Theater's artists

Bishkek, Dec. 26, 2025 /Kabar/. The ballet troupe of the Maldybaev Kyrgyz National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater's first European tour of the Kingdom of Spain was a great triumph, the theater announced.

From December 8 to 23, residents of Zaragoza, Calpe, Riba Roja de Ebro, Xativa, Alipante, La Nucia, and Gandia applauded the choreographic art of the Kyrgyz artists. The tour program included world-class masterpieces, including the legendary, fairytale-like "Swan Lake," Pyotr Tchaikovsky's fantastical, New Year's "The Nutcracker," and Ludwig Minkus's enchanting "Don Quixote."

The theater emphasized that new, bright, and colorful costumes were quickly created for the theater's tour, which were appreciated by European audiences.

The Kyrgyz ballet tour was part of memorandum of cooperation between Maldybaev Opera and Ballet Theater and Global Showtime ser vices S.R.L., represented by owner Jose Manuel Tahad Regidor. It is noted that Global Showtime ser vices S.R.L., covered all costs for the project.

Forty-five Kyrgyz ballet dancers participated in the tour, led by General Director and People's Artist of the Kyrgyz Republic Muratbek Begaliev and Chief Ballet Master and People's Artist of the Kyrgyz Republic Aizada Tumakova.

It is stated that the Kyrgyz and Spanish sides plan to continue to create joint projects by attracting leading theatre specialists, as well as conducting tours and concerts featuring the best performances of world and national classics, and works by contemporary authors.
