AZERI FM, EU TROIKA BRIEF JOURNALISTS ON OUTCOMES OF THEIR MEETING
Baku, July 20 (AzerTAc). Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Elmar Mammadyarov and EU Troika delegation have today held press-conference on the outcomes of their meeting.
Mammadyarov said the talks mainly focused on cooperation within the Eastern Partnership Program and settlement of the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh.
The Minister noted he had briefed the delegation on the Moscow meeting of the Azerbaijani and Armenian presidents and Azerbaijan`s stance towards settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
According to Mammadyarov, they also touched upon Azerbaijan-EU political dialogue, economic development, cooperation on energy security, democracy and human rights.
Head of the delegation, Swedish Foreign Minister Carl Bildt said the Troika`s current visit aims to conduct discussions on bilateral cooperation.
He pointed out the talks also revolved around free trade issues between Azerbaijan and EU. “So, new opportunities have been created here to reach agreements on free trade”, he added.
