Waste-to-energy power plant to be built in Osh

Bishkek, Feb. 10, 2026 /Kabar/. A modern waste-to-energy power plant will be built in Osh, the Mayor’s Office of the city announced.
According to the information, the Osh Mayor’s Office and Junxin Huanbao KG Invest, a leading Chinese environmental technology company, signed a concession agreement. The document was signed by Mayor Jenishbek Toktorbaev and the company's director, Dai Daogo.
The agreement will include the construction of a modern waste processing plant with subsequent electricity generation. The facility will be able to process up to 310,000 tons of waste per year.
The plant will fully comply with environmental requirements, producing no harmful emissions.
The capsule laying ceremony for the project will take place in the coming days. The plant is scheduled to be operational by the end of 2027, the Mayor's Office emphasized.
