The FM Meets his Dutch Counterpart and Affirms: Iraq Is Witnessing Security Stability Despite the Region's Challenges

Baghdad / NINA /- Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein affirmed on Saturday that Iraq is experiencing a state of security stability despite the challenges facing several neighboring countries and the wider region.
His remarks came during a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Minister for Asylum and Migration, David van Weel, and his accompanying delegation, held on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference.
According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the two sides discussed ways to enhance bilateral relations and expand joint cooperation across various sectors, particularly in water resource management and addressing climate challenges. They emphasized the importance of benefiting from the Netherlands’ advanced expertise in these fields, as well as maintaining continuous coordination and communication to elevate the level of partnership between the two countries.
Minister Hussein reviewed Iraq’s security stability, in addition to political developments related to efforts to form the new government. He also addressed measures concerning the transfer of ISIS members from Syrian prisons to Iraq, within the framework of relevant security and legal commitments.
He warned of potential repercussions should positive outcomes not be achieved in the issues under discussion, stressing the importance of diplomatic solutions in supporting regional security and stability.
The meeting also covered regional developments, particularly the ongoing negotiations in Muscat between Iran and the United States./ End
