Prabowo witnesses US$38.4 bln US-Indonesia MoU signings

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia's President Prabowo Subianto witnessed the signing of 11 agreements worth US$38.4 billion between Indonesian and US companies at a business summit in Washington.
The signings took place at the US Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday during a roundtable session hosted by the US-ASEAN Business Council, covering mining and downstream processing, energy, agribusiness, textiles and garments, furniture manufacturing, and advanced technology.
Among the agreements, a critical minerals cooperation pact was signed by Investment and Downstreaming Minister Rosan Perkasa Roeslani with Freeport-McMoRan President and Chief Executive Kathleen Quirk and PT Freeport Indonesia President Director Tony Wenas.
In energy, state-owned Pertamina and Halliburton signed an oilfield recovery cooperation agreement, signed by Pertamina Chief Executive Simon Mantiri and Halliburton President Director Ankush Balla.
Agribusiness cooperation included a corn-sector agreement among PT Cargill Indonesia, PT Arena Agro Andalan, and Cargill Inc, represented by AmCham Managing Director Fanny Hosea, PT Sorini Agro Asia Corporindo Director Donna Priadi, and Cargill Director of International Government Relations Elizabeth Struse.
Two cotton-sector agreements were signed between Busana Apparel Group and the US National Cotton Council, represented by Busana Chief Marketing Officer Manish Virmani and NCC Senior Government Relations Director Jeff Kuckkuck, and between Daehan Global Chief Executive Boo Hyung Lee and Jeff Kuckkuck.
Textile sustainability cooperation included an agreement on shredded worn clothing between the Indonesian Garment and Textile Association, PT Pan Brothers, and US-based Ravel, signed by Pan Brothers Chief Executive Ludijanto Setijo and Ravel Chief Executive Zahlen Titcomb.
Furniture-sector cooperation included agreements between the Indonesian Furniture Industry and Handicraft Association (ASMINDO) and Bingaman and Son Lumber, signed by Vivere Group Chief Executive Dedy Rochimat and Bingaman Director of Exports Jeremy Roupp.
Another furniture and wood products agreement was signed between the Indonesian Furniture and Handicraft Industry Association (HIMKI) and the American Hardwood Export Council, represented by HIMKI Head of Promotion and Marketing for the Americas Rudy Hartono and AHEC representative Michael Snow.
Technology partnerships included three agreements involving Galang Bumi Industri (GBI), including semiconductor cooperation with Essence, signed by GBI President Director Ahmad Maaruf Maulana and Essence President Director Chester Coleman, and with Tynergy Technology Group, signed by GBI Director Kadafi Yahya Muhamad and Tynergy President Director Yan Purba.
A transnational free trade zone cooperation agreement was also signed between Galang Bumi Industri and Solanna Group LLC, represented by GBI Director Tjaw Hioeng and Solanna Group President David Fordon.
Indonesia’s presidential media team said the agreements reflect international confidence in the country’s economic prospects and reinforce its strategic position in the Indo-Pacific region.
The government pledged to oversee implementation to ensure tangible gains for the national economy.
