HEAD OF OSCE BAKU OFFICE MEETS AZERBAIJANI VICE-SPEAKER

Baku, 21 July (AzerTAc). The Head of the OSCE Office in Baku, Ambassador Bilge Cankorel today has met Vice-Speaker of the Azerbaijan Parliament Bahar Muradova.
Cankorel said OSCE praises democratic reforms in Azerbaijan.
“Azerbaijan can set an example to other countries for its achievements,” he said.
Muradova hailed current level of Azerbaijan-OSCE relations, saying visits by top OSCE officials “make great contribution” to deepening the cooperation.
The Vice-Speaker said her country is keen on cooperation with international and regional organizations, including OSCE and Council of Europe.
She raised awareness of the OSCE Ambassador about ongoing judicial and democratic reforms, noting the “important” role of the Parliament in this regard.
Cankorel also noted the importance of cooperation with international and regional organizations.
They also discussed domestic violation, and the Head of the OSCE Baku Office said Azerbaijan should create a relevant legislation.
Muradova said the parliament held hearings on domestic violations in 2006 with participation of representatives of international organizations and NGOs.
