BAKI INTO 3RD ROUND OF CHAMPIONS LEAGUE QUALIFYING ROUND
Baku, July 21 (AzerTAc). Azerbaijani FC Baki have progressed into the 3rd round of the Champions League thanks to a 4-2 win over Lithuanian Ekranas at home after being held to a 2-2 draw in Latvia a week ago.
Felipe Almeyda put Baki ahead in the 60th minute before Amiran Mujuri scored second 6 minutes later.
In the 76th minute Almeyda grabbed his second and Baki`s third goal, but Matovic scored the Lithuanian side`s first goal just three minutes later.
Baki went on launching a flurry of attacks for Alexander Sholich to net the fourth in the 90th minute which meant that the result was no longer in doubt.
Ekranas` Gleveskas scored his team`s second goal in the additional time before a referee`s whistle sent the Azeri club into the next round where they would face Bulgarian champions Levski.
