"From the report of the state enterprises minister, I conclude that the performance of state companies at present is much better than it was before," the president said.
Before the president delivered his address at the dedication of Garuda's new building, State Enterprises Minister Sofyan Djalil reported the companies' performance over the past five years had improved.
According to Djalil, the good performance was marked by the 300 percent rise of BUMN dividend against state revenue from less than Rp10 trillion in 2004 to Rp29 trillion in 2008.
While the BUNM net profit also rose by 77 percent from Rp44 trillion in 2004 to Rp78 trillion in 2008.

In response to the minister's report, President Yudhoyono said BUMN management at present was getting better and therefore the companies net profit and the dividend also increased.
"The BUMN management has been better but it has yet to finish," the president said, adding that the BUMN leaders were the right men on the right place.***
