‘AZERBAIJAN`S ECONOMY AND NATIONAL CURRENCY STRONG ENOUGH’
Baku, July 23 (AzerTAc). “Azerbaijan`s economy and our national currency are strong enough to remain stable and I am sure that there will be no changes in this area in the coming months,” said President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said at the Cabinet Meeting on socio-economic achievements in first half of 2009.
Saying economic situation is not only measured by macroeconomic indices, the Head of State stressed that the fact that population`s incomes, average salary rose 15-19% and inflation rate made up 3.7% is a good indicator.
“During previous years, inflation was higher. It was 20% last year. Indeed, economic growth was higher last year. I sure that in the long run, Azerbaijan`s economy will be developing faster in the coming years because we have sufficient financial resources,” the President said.
