US EMBASSY HOLDING `FOTOBAMA` CONTEST THROUGH FACEBOOK

Jakarta, July 23 (ANTARA) - The US embassy is as of July 23 holding a 'FotObama' contest through facebook in which Indonesian people who are fans of the embassy's facebook can take part by congratulating President Barack Obama on his birthday on August 4 by exchanging profiles of participants' photos.

The US embassy said here Thursday participants can take photos creatively and extend expressions of congratulation on Obama's 48th birthday, attach the renewed profiles of the participants' photos on the facebook with captions and send them to the page on 'the fans of the US embassy facebook and write FotObama contest.

The best photos will win iPod Shuffle, vouchers for Blitz Megaplex, Starbucks Coffee, Coca-Cola, books and exclusive things from the US embassy and Barack Obama memorabilia.
The profiles of photos which emerge as the winners will appear as profiles of photos on the page of the US embassy fans. The contest is taking place from July 23 to August 4, 2009.

Until now the US embassy is the only diplomatic representative in Indonesia that has a facebook. The page of fans started on January, 2009, and now has 2,500 fans.

The US embassy also uses other systems of online technology to make a direct link to the Indonesian people, including YouTube video and online system for visa services.***
