AZERI WRESTLER CLAIMS EUROPEAN CROWN
Baku, July 23 (AzerTAc). Young Azerbaijani freestyle wrestler Togrul Asgarov weighing in at 54 kg has won gold medal in the European championship in Zrenjanin, Serbia, after beating Russian Habib Batirov.
Other Azeri wrestlers Orkhan Sharifov weighing in at 76 kg and Ali Mahammadabirov at 100 garnered bronze medals after defeating Austrian Alessandro Puntsa and Georgian Omar Gusoshvili respectively.
On the first day of the competition, Eljan Usubsaze grabbed silver in the 85 kg category for Azerbaijan, while Kazim Abbasov won bronze in 69 kg class. Azerbaijan ranked fourth in the medal table.
