AZERI JUDO FIGHTER WINS OLYMPIC FESTIVAL GOLD
Baku, July 24 (AzerTAc). Azerbaijani judo fighter Jalil Jalilov weighing in at 66 kg has claimed gold medal in the European Youth Olympic Festival in Tampere, Finland, after beating German Valentin Larassero.
Another Azeri fighter Mahir Jafarli grabbed silver medal in the 60 kg after defeating Dutch Remi Groneved.
On the first day of the competition, Kamran Bagirov won gold medal in the 50 kg category for Azerbaijan.
In the women`s event, Shafaq Muradzade weighing in at 52 kg garnered silver medal after losing to Ukrainian Natalia Ilkiv.
