SHAGAL: “AZERBAIJAN`S WISE POLICY WILL YIELD GOOD RESULTS”
Baku, July 25 (AzerTAc). Azerbaijan`s wise policy will yield good results, said eminent journalist, chairman of the Israel-Azerbaijan International Association Yosef Shagal.
“President Ilham Aliyev is pursuing a wise and diversified policy. It is based on a well-thought strategy.”
“Israel`s leadership and politicians are keeping a close eye on Azerbaijan`s policy,” he added.
He also touched upon the history of the two countries` relations, saying Israel was one of the first countries to establish diplomatic ties with Azerbaijan after the country regained its independence.
“Maintaining good relations with Azerbaijan has always been among highest priorities for Israel.”
Shagal also praised the level of tolerance in Azerbaijan.
“Azerbaijan is home to an abundant number of Jews who live there in peace and friendship, and there have never been cases of anti-Semitism in the country,” he said.
“Azerbaijan and Israel will continue approaching, and this has strategic reasons. The way Jews are treated in Azerbaijan is a vivid evidence of this, and it makes our relations stronger.”
Shagal also stressed Azerbaijan`s international importance.
“Azerbaijan is a transport, energy, economic, cultural and intellectual hub for both Europe, Middle East and Central Asia,” Shagal noted.
