Accord facilitates hike in livestock imports to Saudi Arabia

Jeddah, July 26, SPA -- The Islamic Corporation for Insurance of
Investment and Export Credit signed an agreement here today with
Sudanese Shaikan Company for Insurance and Reinsurance, Division of
Livestock Exporters, on increasing livestock imports, estimated at
more than one million U.S. dollars a year from Sudan to the Kingdom
of Saudi Arabia.

The Corporation's Director General Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Tayyeb Ali
Taha, who signed the agreement, said that the insurance policy to be
issued by the Company will enable Sudanese banks to provide the
necessary funding for increasing Sudanese livestock imports into the
Kingdom during Hajj season.

The signing ceremony was attended by President of Islamic
Development Bank (IDB) Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Ali and Sudan's Consul
General in Jeddah, Ambassador Mahmoud Fadhel Abdulrasul.
