JAKARTA TO HAVE CCTV SETS ON ITS IMPORTANT ROADS

Yogyakarta, Jul 27 (ANTARA) - The Jakarta Communications and Information Service will use the closed circuit television sets (CCTV) at a number of roads to monitor traffic density.

Head of the service Mulyadi Hadikusumo said here Monday the CCTV will provide information on traffic density in the area.

Mulyadi said that right how his side is installing several CCTV sets in certain points, like Maguwo, Amplaz, Jombor intersection, and Tugu intersection on Jalan Jenderal Sudirman.

"We are still improving the cameras," he said.

He said right now the connection is still using radio frequencies, so that the pictures are not clear enough.

"We are still preparing a connection using optic fiber cable," he said.

In this way, he said, motorists will have a choice in taking which route they thought is less dense.

In the meantime, head of the technology and information management division Rony Primanto said to maximize the use of CCTV sets, the connection will use optic fiber cable for a clearer picture.
"The use of radio frequencies is still affected by weather conditions, and quality is therefore inferior, and we will therefore be using optic fiber cable for clearer pictures," he said.
