POLITICAL PARTY CHIEFS WANT SUPREME COUNRT'S RULING NOT EFFECTIVE RETROACTIVELY

Jakarta, July 29 (ANTARA)- Three political party general chairmen who felt being harmed by the Supreme Court's decision cancelling the second stage ruling of the General Elections Commission (KPU) have asked that he Supreme Court's ruling is not retroactively effective.

"We agreed that the Supreme Court's ruling is not retroactively effective to prevent political chaos on a national scale," General Chairman of the National Mandate Party (PAN) Soetrisni Bachier, General Chairman of PPP Suryadharma Ali, and president of the
Social Justice Party (PKS) Tifatul Sembiring said in Jakarta Wednesday.
According to Soetrisno Bachier, the implications of the ruling had caused confusion and restlessness to a number of legislative candidates in the regions.

Therefore he said he has no bad thoughts, and the Supreme Court's ruling would not harm the interest of the existing political parties.

A similar statement was made by PPP chief Suryadharma Ali, who said that the Supreme Court's ruling made things only worse. "Therefore we think it would be alright to carry out the ruling, but not retroactively," he said.
