King Saud University classified among the world`s best 200, Arab and Islamic first

Riyadh, July 29, SPA -- King Saud University (KSU) entered the club
of the world's best 200, and Arab and Islamic first.
According to the renowned Spanish international classification for
universities "webometrics", King Saud ranked 197 and first in Arab
and Islamic university world in July 2009, an unprecedented jump of
an Arab and Islamic university ever. For Asia, KSU was the 21st,
according to webometrics.
In 2007, KSU occupied the 3259th place, in July 2008, the 380th, and
in January 2009, the 292nd.
The record achievement was attributed to the diversified development
almost covering all fields of specialization, including research
chairs, nano program, recruitment of renowned scientists, including
Nobel laureates, technological programs, satellite labs, being
twinned with international partners, business pioneering, endowments,
academic reliability and quality, staff high qualification, and
strategic projects for academic and health programs.
