PRESIDENT TO HOLD VIDEO CONFERENCE WITH ALL GOVERNORS
Jakarta, July 30 (ANTARA) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono is on Thursday scheduled to hold a video conference with all provincial governors to discuss the latest situation in their respective region.
In the conference to be started from the State Palace at 1 on Thursday afternoon, and also to be participated in by provincial police and military chiefs, the President would touch on the potential threat of El Nino and the latest developments in each province in the wake of the recent terrorist attacks on the JW Marriott and Ritz Carlton hotels in Jakarta.
Earlier, at a limited cabinet meeting at the Presidential Office on Tuesday, the head of state said he would hold the video conference with all provincial governors, police chiefs and military commanders.
"Besides a coordination meeting with the cabinet ministers, I will hold a teleconference in the near future with all governors across the country to make sure that the security situation remains good," the president said at Tuesday's meeting to discuss materials for his speech to introduce the government's financial note to the Parliament (DPR) on August 3, 2009.
The president said that in the video conference with the governors, he would ask the governors and their staffs to jointly support the process of economic policy to deal with the global financial crisis.
He added that if the economic policy was supported jointly by all governors, the investment, trade, and services would have a good result.
Besides discussing economic policy in the video conference, the head of state will also remind the governors of the potential waves of El Nino in various parts on Indonesia.
In relation to terrorist bomb attacks on JW Marriott and Ritz Carlton hotels in Jakarta recently, the president would also asked the governors and the security officials in the provinces to remain on guard against terror acts.***
