COMPLETE GUIDE TO RI'S MICE DESTINATIONS LAUNCHED



Jakarta, July 31 (ANTARA) - A complete guide to MICE (Meeting, Incentives, Convention and Exhibition) destinations in Indonesia was launched here Friday by the MICE Directorate of the Ministry of Cultural and Tourism and American Express Corporate Travel Services.

The launching of the Indonesia MICE Guide (IMG) was a follow-up to the annual Indonesian forum for MICE & Corporate Travel Mart (IMCTM) which was held in Yogyakarta this year to further promote Indonesia as the ideal destination for MICE, according to a press statement of the American Express here on Friday.
The IMG, with 110 pages, contains a comprehensive list of information ranging from detailed facilities to room lay out and the meeting room capacity.

There are at least 150 hotels, resorts, and convention centers participating in the IMG, making it the most comprehensive MICE guide to Indonesia.

The IMG is targeted to reach more than 3000 multinational companies. Majorities are selected American Express Corporate clients and many business entities headquartered not only in Indonesia, but also in Malaysia, Singapore, China and Korea
"IMG aims to facilitate our American Express Corporate clients and card members with comprehensive information regarding MICE destinations in Indonesia and at the same time enjoy privileges and special offers provided by American Express," Farmawaty Tan, Card Business Head of PT. Bank Danamon Indonesia Tbk, said
For most companies, spending on business travels and MICE is the second biggest expenditure after remuneration. As a consequence thereof, choosing a proper MICE facility that suits the needs of a company is important.

"Many companies spend an average of billion rupiah for MICE every year. With appropriate management on expenses and utilization of special offers, the savings can be tremendous," Farma said.

Meanwhile, Nia Niscaya, Director for MICE from Ministry of Cultural and Tourism, who is also one of the stakeholders of IMG, said, "the launch of IMG is a successful public-private partnership between the government and corporate travel industry. IMG is a useful reference for business travelers as well as a worldwide promotion tool for MICE in Indonesia."
