BULGARIAN PRESIDENT AWARDED ILYAS AFANDIYEV INTERNATIONAL PRIZE

Baku, August 1 (AzerTAc). President of the Ilyas Afandiyev Foundation Tural Afandiyev has awarded Bulgarian President Georgi Parvanov, in Sofia, “Ilyas Afandiyev International Prize”.
Prior to the ceremony, the Bulgarian President had a conversation with Tural Afandiyev.
Afandiyev said President Ilham Aliyev`s successful foreign policy contributes to boosting relationship between Azerbaijan and Bulgaria.
He briefed Georgi Parvanov on the work of the Ilyas Afandiyev Foundation, saying it has established relations with international governmental and non-governmental organizations.
According to him, the main goal of the foundation is to raise the world community`s awareness about the Azerbaijani realities.
Afandiyev also praised the Bulgarian President`s “efforts to support peace and promote democracy”, as well as his “successful foreign policy”.
Georgi Parvanov, in turn, thanked for awarding him the Prize. He said enhancing cooperation with Azerbaijan was one of his country`s foreign policy priorities.
The Bulgarian leader said his personal friendship with President Ilham Aliyev plays a great role in expansion of ties between the two countries.
Azerbaijani ambassador to Sofia Elman Zeynalov was present in the meeting.
