Prince Saud, Hillary Clinton hold Meeting and Press Conference 3 Washington
Prince Saud said Israel has been trying to divert attention from the
main issues including the end of occupation of Arab territories since
1967 and the establishment of a Palestinian state to ancillary issues
such as academic concerns and civil aviation.
He said, "This is not the track of peace. Israel should decide
whether it wants real peace, or it desires to continue perplexity,
consequently leading the region into instability and violence. The
question does not lie in what the Arab world will submit, but lies in
ending the conflict and what Israel will give for Arab comprehensive
peace initiative".
The Prince pointed out that Israel has not even responded to a U.S.
request to stop the settlements, which have been described by U.S.
President as illegal, adding, "The stoppage of settlements does not
mean the return of land to Israel as it does not belong to it."
Prince Saud described his talks with U.S. Secretary of State as
productive and fruitful, stressing that the two countries have been
closely working to promote peace and combat terrorism, noting the
importance of coordinating efforts between the two countries and
strengthening the strategic dialogue between them whose foundations
were laid in 2005.
