STATE FIRMS` DIVIDEND PAYMENTS MAY FALL IN 2010

Jakarta, Aug 3 (ANTARA) - State-owned companies' dividend payments next year may fall from the previous year due to a cut in their profit target, an official said.

State firms' net profit target of Rp70 trillion for 2009 served as the basis for the collection of dividends in 2010, Secretary of the State Enterprises Ministry Said Didu said following President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono's state-of-the-nation address to introduce the government's financial note and the draft 2010 state budget before the parliament here on Monday.

In the draft 2010 state budget the dividends were categorized as non-tax state revenues, he said.

"The dividends are categorized as non-tax state revenues but there is no detailed explanation on them," he said.

In his address, President Yudhoyono said state revenues and grants were projected to Rp911.5 trillion in 2010.

The government also projected tax receipts and non-tax state revenues in 2010 at Rp729.2 trillion and Rp180.9 trillion respectively.

Asked to comment on the state firms' net profit target of Rp70 trillion for 2010, he said he was optimistic they could achieve it owing to their positive performance in the first half of 2009.

"As we all see almost all companies have recorded negative growth. Only state mining companies had very positive performance in the first semester," he said.***
