PRESIDENT ILHAM ALIYEV INAUGURATES NAKHCHIVAN-SADARAK HIGHWAY

Nakhchivan, August 3 (AzerTAc). President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today opened a Nakhchivan-Sadarak motorway,.
President Ilham Aliyev saw the road scheme layout. The highway is strategically important as it is the only road linking Azerbaijan and Turkey.
Construction of the road began in March 2008. The road is 78.5 km in length, 23 meters in width. The width of the asphalt surface is 17.2 meters. 55.5km-part of the road has been finished while the rest of the road is under construction. Four out of six bridges over the four-lane road have already been built.
The road is being built by the Gemigaya company. The highway will link Kangarli, Sharur and Sadarak regions. It is a part of the Great Silkway.
The Head of the State inspected the asphalt and crush stone used in the construction.
President Ilham Aliyev was told about the improvements around the road.
The Head of State cut the ribbon symbolizing official opening of the motorway.
President Ilham Aliyev got into a car to proceed to the Sharur Olympic and Sport Complex to inaugurate it.
