Jakarta, Aug 5 (ANTARA) - Radio Taiwan Internasional (RTI) is to cooperate with Antara news agency in providing information to its listeners in Indonesia and Indonesian nationals in Taiwan, one of the radio's managers said.
"We need information from Antara among others on government policies, culture, films and popular songs to meet growing demand from Indonesian listeners (in Taiwan)," RTI chief Alice Kao said on the sidelines of her visit to the Antara news room here on Wednesday.
Alice said RTI would broadcast Antara news through its broadcast network and website : www.rti.org.tw.
RTI had prepared special space dubbed Antara Corner in the website to enable 134,000 Indonesian migrant workers and 30,000 Indonesian couples in Taiwan to access the latest information on Indonesia, she said.
She said RTI broadcast news on Indonesia at 05.00 p.m. everyday and rebroadcast it three times at night.
Besides developments in Indonesia, RTI also broadcast programs on culture, health, amusement and Taiwan's labor law, she said.
In the fasting month of Ramadhan which would start on August 20 or 21, RTI would prepare special programs targeting Muslim listeners, she said.
"Under the cooperation, Antara will also receive information (from RTI) on developments in Taiwan," she said.
To date, RTI has programs in 13 languages, including Indonesian, English, German, Japanese, French, Thai, Vietnamese and Mandarin.
